Industrial Safety Training Council awards BGI their TOP Safety Award, the Roy Comeaux Award.
The Roy Comeaux "Safety Excellence through Training" Award
- the most prestigious ISTC award, recipients must exhibit superior levels of consistent safety performance. The recipient must also exhibit superior levels of safety training efforts for their employees.
The Roy Comeaux Award is the highest award chosen by the Industrial Safety Council (ISTC) that represents BGI's geographic area. ISTC also has affiliate organizations. BGI's geographic area includes the areas of Louisiana, throughout Southeast Texas, and up into the Houston area.
ISTC hosted its 15th Annual Safety Awards Banquet on May 12, 2011.
BGI received additional awards in the categories of:
- Sustained Recordable Incidence Rate
- 4 Million Hours Worked
- 19 Years Worked
The greatest achievement of the night was the acknowledgement of BGI being the recipient of the Roy Comeaux Award for its excellent safety program.
